Biography
Prof Ing is a Respiratory Medicine Physician and Clinical Program Head of the Cardiovascular and Respiratory program at Macquarie University. He has been involved in interventional pulmonology since 1993, when he helped establish endobronchial laser resection and stent deployment at Concord Hospital. Prof Ing pioneered the use of endobronchial valves in patients with COPD and emphysema (ELVR), and performed the first bronchial thermoplasty procedure in NSW. He has ongoing research into ELVR and bronchial thermoplasty. He also utilizes cryobiopsy in the diagnosis and management of interstitial lung disease, proximal endobronchial tumours and peripheral lung nodules.
